Your Voice Matters: Submit CEQA Comments on the Ukiah Annexation Proposal

The City of Ukiah is currently conducting environmental review for its proposed annexation project, and residents have an important opportunity to make their concerns part of the official record.

On June 1, the City held a CEQA scoping session for the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) related to the annexation proposal. While City officials described the meeting as a step toward a "thorough and transparent" review, many attendees raised concerns about the annexation's impacts on local communities, services, infrastructure, traffic, public safety, and future development.

The CEQA process is not a vote on annexation, but it is one of the few formal opportunities for residents to require the City to study potential impacts and address issues before moving forward. Comments submitted during the scoping period help determine what topics must be analyzed in the environmental review.

If you have concerns about the annexation proposal, now is the time to submit them. Ask questions. Request analysis. Demand that potential impacts be fully evaluated.

Written comments can be submitted through 5:00 p.m. on June 8 to:

For those who believe the City has not adequately listened to residents' concerns, submitting comments is one of the most effective ways to ensure those concerns become part of the official public record. Whether you support or oppose annexation, participation in the CEQA process helps ensure decision-makers cannot ignore the issues that matter to the community.
