77% of Survey Respondents Oppose Annexation

An independent survey of property owners within the proposed Ukiah annexation area found that participating residents overwhelmingly oppose the City's proposal.

The survey was texted to 798 property owners, with 117 residents responding – a 14.7% response rate. The results have a 95% confidence level with a 9.5% margin of error, meaning the findings provide a strong indication of how property owners in the proposed annexation area view the proposal. The survey asked a simple question: whether respondents support or oppose annexation.

Among those who participated:

• 90 (76.9%) opposed annexation

• 16 (13.7%) were undecided

• 10 (8.5%) supported annexation

• 1 (0.9%) had no opinion

While no survey captures the views of every property owner, these results send a clear message from those who participated. Public participation matters, and every resident deserves clear communication and the opportunity to make an informed decision about a proposal that will directly affect their property and community.

Based on these results, it is clear that the current annexation proposal does not have sufficient support among the property owners it would directly affect. No Ukiah Annexation will continue to advocate for property owners and residents in the proposed annexation area and officially opposes the current annexation proposal.
